After having a little bit of fame covering James's "Laid" for the American Wedding Soundtrack, Matt Nathanson put out a great power pop record. It being his sixth record to date, he's refined his work to the point that each song has it's own identity, which can be a problem on power pop records. I really just love singer/songwriter power pop, with the wonderful melodies, catchy hooks and sweet back ups. The stand-out track is definitely "Sad Songs," a tale of letting someone back in too often.
