The first good thing I want to say about this release is that it was recorded completely live in the studio, with no manipulation by computers of any kind (according to the liner notes). I'm a huge fan of authentic recordings, so right away I'm happy. And since the recording is real, it shows how good the musicians are, which means that this is a group of true musicians who really know their insruments (especially that kick). The music is straight-ahead black metal. The growling is incredible. I can see the pit now.
