I love being pleasantly surprised by something I assume is going to suck. This album is great -- the vocals are creative and melodic, and the songs are interesting despite the fact that they're almost an "emo" cliche. The band has some growing to do before they will own their sound, but I have faith that they can do it. However, for as long as they are called "Mourning September," they will be written off before ever getting a first listen, 90% of the time. I almost didn't put the disc in the player. Dudes: Change your band name. Immediately.
