Amber Pacific : The Possibility and the Promise (2005)
Hopeless Records : CD/LP (12 Songs) : www.amberpacific.com

Wow. Amber Pacific far exceeded my expectations. When I first listened I wasn't impressed, but I quickly changed my mind the second time through. The lyrics are simple and to-the-point, and the vocals are just right -- stretching farther than your average pop/punk/rock/emo/hardcore band. The band incorporates strings and group vocals, creating a Saves The Day meets Dashboard Confessional meets Jimmy Eat World effect. They even throw in a ballad for those of us who tire of distortion. If you're looking for an energetic album with emotion, hard guitar riffs, and prominent beats driven by heartfelt screaming melodies, pick this up.
