Finally got the last of the supplies to make the “Collected Demos” and “First LP: Instrumental” CDs for my 2011 Kickstarter campaign! (Oh yeah, remember that?) Finishing up a few more shirts, then sending out the last of the Reward packages this Friday before I head to Los Angeles for the next two months!
If you were a Kickstarter Backer and you’re still waiting on some of your stuff, check the status at tinyurl.com/GNAkickstarter.

P.S. If there’s anything left over after all is said and done, I might add it to my Etsy shop.
Exciting news! As of today, Leap Day 2012, the limited edition handmade “Saboteur” CDs are now SOLD OUT! Thanks to everyone who ordered one and waited patiently for me to make and send them.
If you’re still waiting on yours, follow the progress @ http://tinyurl.com/saboteurhandmade
Of course, you can still get the album on iTunes or Bandcamp. ;)

“I tell you, if one wants to be active, one must not be afraid of going wrong, must not be afraid of making mistakes now and then. Many people think that they will become good just by doing no harm — but that’s a lie. That way lies stagnation, mediocrity.
“Just slap anything on when you see a blank canvas staring at you like some imbecile. You don’t know how paralyzing that is, that stare of a blank canvas, which says to the painter: you can’t do a thing. The canvas has an idiotic stare and mesmerizes some painters so much that they turn into idiots themselves. Many painters are afraid in front of the blank canvas, but the blank canvas is afraid of the real, passionate painter who dares and who has broken the spell of “you can’t” once and for all.
“Life itself, too, is forever turning an infinitely vacant, disheartening, dispiriting blank side towards man on which nothing appears, any more than it does on a blank canvas. But no matter how vacant and vain, how dead life may appear to be, the man of faith, of energy, of warmth, who knows something, will not be put off easily. He wades in and does something.”
- Vincent van Gogh, in a letter to his brother Theo (October 1884)

Yesterday was the first day of a two-week creative hibernation for me: no job, no money, no car, no friends or family nearby, and nothing to do but work on music and ideas. I’ll be recording demos and posting them in my blog each day, along with daily photos and thoughts from inside my self-imposed retreat. Follow along @ gardeningnotarchitecture.com and join my email club to get the full collection of demos (“The Florida Sessions”) at the end of the month!
